🤔What is an Opt-In Rate?
Your Opt-In Rate shows how many of your contacts have agreed to receive your campaigns. It’s calculated like this:
Opt-In Rate = (Contacts who opted in ÷ Total contacts in your campaigns) × 100
Example: If 10 out of 50 contacts opted in, your Opt-In Rate is 20%.
🤔Why Do We Check Opt-In Rates?
Extremely low opt-in rates put your account and your sending domain at risk. If too many contacts haven’t opted in, email providers may block or filter your emails as spam, which means your messages might not reach your contacts. Monitoring opt-in rates helps ensure your emails actually get delivered and your campaigns remain effective.
🤔When Does the System Check My Opt-In Rate?
- The system starts checking once you have 50 contacts.
- It keeps monitoring your rate over time, even if you delete contacts and drop below 50.
🤔What Happens if My Opt-In Rate Drops?
- Below 20%: You’ll get a reminder email suggesting you review your contacts. Your account is still fully functional.
- Below 15%: You’ll get a warning email. Your account status changes to “Warned,” but it’s still fully functional.
Below 10%: You’ll get an email saying your account is “Restricted.” Your account cannot assign contacts to campaigns. This message will also appear on your Dashboard.
🤔What Does “Restricted” Mean?
If your account is restricted:
- You can still log in on web or mobile.
- You can view and send resources and manage your contacts.
- You cannot assign contacts to campaigns. Trying to do so will show:
“Please contact support to reinstate the ability to assign campaigns.”
🤔How to Reinstate Your Account
To get your account back to normal:
- Resend opt-in emails to contacts who haven’t confirmed yet.
- On the mobile app:
- Tap Contacts.
- Tap the filter icon.
- Select Filter by Status.
- Under Campaign Status, tick the Assigned box and tap Filter.
- This shows contacts who are assigned to a campaign but haven’t opted in yet.
- Tap a contact, then under Active Campaign, tap the Opt-In button to resend the opt-in email.
- Tip: Remind contacts to check their spam/junk folders.
- On the mobile app:
- Reassign contacts not opted-in to the campaign “None” for now, then contact them later to reassign if they’re still interested.
- Delete contacts who unsubscribed, bounced, or complained.
Once these steps are done, your Opt-In Rate should improve, and the restriction will be lifted.
🤔How Can I Keep My Account Healthy?
- Keep your Opt-In Rate at 20% or higher.
- Regularly review your contacts and remove anyone who is not engaging or has unsubscribed.
