# What is the difference between a regular contact and a Hot Prospect?

Understand how RapidFunnel identifies your highest-priority prospects.

Every contact begins as a regular contact.

A prospect becomes a **Hot Prospect** when their engagement reaches a level that indicates strong interest.

The Hot Score considers both:

-   Your personal star rating
    
-   The prospect's engagement with your content
    

When someone becomes a Hot Prospect, RapidFunnel will notify you automatically.

These are the people you should contact first because they're actively interacting with your resources.
