# What does the score next to my contact mean?

The number next to a contact is their **Hot Score**.

Hot Score measures how actively a prospect is engaging with your content.

Activities that increase the score include:

-   Watching videos
    
-   Completing surveys
    
-   Opening documents
    
-   Opting into email campaigns
    
-   Attending events
    

The score naturally decreases over time if there is no recent activity, helping you focus on prospects who are actively engaged.

When someone becomes a **Hot Prospect**, you'll receive a notification so you know it's a great time to follow up.
